(35%/15% from lowest to highest playing handicap)
A large field of 136 entered the Wells Seniors Texas Scramble Open. In general the weather was better than forecast with only a few sharp showers bringing out the umbrellas. Over half the field playing were visitors, with many returning to play again in this popular annual competition. The course was in excellent condition, and the scoring, particularly in the lower handicap prize section was very close, with count back having a key impact. The overall winners with a Nett score of 61 were Philip Goodley of Cumberwell Park, and Gerald Goodley from Forest Hills. David Holland and Robert Coate were the winning home pair with a Nett 62 which also won them the Arthur Rice Cup. Seventeen of the sixty eight pairs entering had a score of 65 or lower. Feedback from visitors was very positive about the course and event organisation, with thanks due to the volunteer members who helped on the day.
